Welcome to New Mexico Sighthounds

Lobo Lure Coursing Club (LLCC) was formed to host lure coursing events since the sport's inception back in the early 1970's. Originally known as Albuquerque Whippet Fanciers Association (AWFA), LLCC offers several events per year, including AKC and ASFA lure coursing, which are limited to the sighthound breeds. Beginning in 2008, LLCC has also hosted NOTRA oval track racing events; this lasted only a few years. In 2011 LLCC began offering AKC CAT trials, and in 2019 ASFA LCI events which are open to all dogs. We have something for everyone!

Since early LGRA is hosted by Turquoise Trail Borzoi Club (TTBC), which assumed the assets of RUNM (2018).

Hounds are grouped by "grade" - or speed based on prior races - and run in groups of four at a time. Over the course of the day the races get more competitive, and the final High Point Race for each breed is often hotly contested.

LGRA breeds are: purebred Afghan Hounds, Azawakh, Basenji, Borzoi, Chart Polski, Cirneco dell’Etna, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Magyar Agar, Pharaoh Hounds, Podengo Medio/Grande, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Silken Windhounds, and Sloughi.
